  3. Apply. The tribunal calls applying online the easiest and safest way.
  4. Gather the records. Keep the decision, the application and the evidence that supports your case.

§04

What does review cost?

The application fee for review of most migration decisions is A$3,727 (page copy dated 29 August 2026). There is no fee for a bridging visa decision that resulted in immigration detention.

§05

How does a lawyer fit in?

Review looks again at the facts, law and policy, so the case is built on evidence. An application prepared by an Australian migration lawyer is more likely to succeed: the lawyer reads the reasons for refusal against the criteria, and the time limit is short. An immigration lawyer in Canberra for a refused visa acts on a refusal. A Canberra immigration lawyer for 190 and 491 applications handles the nomination and visa that come before one.
